Marathon Bahamas named as one of 1 of 50 Best Race Events outside the United Kingdom– Runners World-UK

New Event For Marathon Bahamas

 

For the 2016 event, Marathon Bahamas will be debuting the STUDENTS RUN MARATHON BAHAMAS – MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM.

The program is designed to offer middle school students the opportunity to run their first marathon and promote a healthy lifestyle. Students will be required to run 25 miles leading up to race day with the last 1.2 miles on race day at 10:30 am from the 25th mile – to the finish line.

Governors General Youth Award is taking lead with this initiative and sponsoring 40 students. Each student receives a t-shirt, finisher medal and tons of fun and huge sense of accomplishment.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

We have made a lot of progress but still have a long way to go and need your help. Remember EARLY DETECTION IS THE BEST PREVENTION
