Like all marathons, Marathon Bahamas is 26.2 miles. What differentiates us from other marathons is that our country is steeped in history and culture, world renown for its tourism product and a great vacation destination….as a marathoner, you get to run through it all!

Inspirational Quote  "The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be strong. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy...It is not age; it is not diet. It is the will to succeed."
- Jacqueline Gareau, 1980 Boston Marathon champ

COURSE
Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, is at the center of this weekend of events. Nassau is rich in history, culture and tourism renaissance and runners will experience many of them—from the historic to the trendy. With a 6 a.m. start on the oceanfront, runners travel east through historic downtown Nassau with its colonial buildings, into the sunrise over the short high-rise bridge to Paradise Island, returning onto Shirley Street before enjoying the northern shore tour of Cable Beach and returning to finish at Arawak Cay – oceanfront!

The course is flat (except two short bridges) and fast, with digital clocks provided. Fluid and entertainment stations are set up throughout the length of the course—as are spectator/cheering stations. Get ready for the Fluid Stations entertainment as our volunteers know how to party!

Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates and roller blades are not permitted on the course, which will remain open for seven hours from when the last runner has crossed the start line.
