RACE FOR THE CURE!
Sixteen years ago, the Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure started with a few hundred participants and a band of warriors who were determined to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer. On October 15, 2011 Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale celebrated the 16th anniversary of the Race in Miami/Ft.Lauderdale.
‘Being a part of something special’ quipped Pamela Richardson of her experience at the event. Attendance was record breaking with 23,000+ and more than 1,200 Breast cancer survivors including a contingent from The Bahamas at the downtown location….all joining in the fight against breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen Bahamas Race for the Cure 5K (January 14, 2012 in Nassau) had a booth promoting the early winter event and was manned by volunteers from the Bahamas Tourist Office, Plantation.
